Defrag problem

My Defrag will not run, it gets to 1% and restarts
consistantly. Tells me that one or more programs are
keeping it from completing. I check my close program
screen and close everything but Explorer and stil cannot
get it to run.. Advice Please????

If you restart your computer in "safe mode" you should be
able to run the defrag.

My internet connection is via cable. I had the same problem. If you have a
cable connection, close all background programs and disconnect the power and
cable leads to the controller which is connected to your computer (supplied
by cable company). Run defrag, reconnect cable leads, then reboot. This
info applies to cable subscribers.

Do it in SAFE Mode, that way on the bare essential proogies
are running: Explorer and Systray. Also turn off your
screensaver.
