Default setting identical desktop settings and colour schemes

I've 52 Windows 98 machines running in the marketing
department and want to set all of the colour schemes and
desktop settings to be the same. I also want to display
the company logo as the desktop background on each machine.

So far, I have manually set all of the options on the one
machine only but have isolated the part of the registry
that stores the configuration information about the
desktop and wallpaper settings etc.

My question is how could I set the other 49 machines to
have the same desktop settings (avoiding the need to set
them manually, one by one? I'm assuming it will be via a
registry script but I don't know what to write.

Hi Jon,

The company logo will have to be moved to each system first

Here are instruction for Backing up and restoring Display Schemes
The Scheme setting are stored in the registry at this key location.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Appearance\Schemes

1. In Display Properties name the Scheme to be saved.
2. Go to Start - Run and type Regedit.
Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Appearance\Schemes
3. Highlight the Scheme to be saved, in the right pane of the registry.
4. On the menu bar click Registry - Export Registry File and
save the Scheme. It will be saved as .reg file.
Copy the .reg file to a floppy disk for safe keeping.
5. To restore the scheme, copy it to the desktop and double click the
.reg file that was saved.
6. In Display Properties select the restored Scheme.

Backing up Display Schemes TEST
The Scheme setting are stored in the registry at this key location.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Appearance\Schemes
She can test this before she upgrades.
1. Create a new scheme and name it A_Test.
This will place it at the top of the list.
2. Go to Start - Run and type Regedit.
Follow the above registry key to Schemes.
3. Highlight A_Test in the right pane of the registry.
4. On the menu bar click Registry - Export Registry File and
save it to the Desktop as TestScheme.
5. In Display Properties delete the A_Test Scheme,
pick another scheme and OK and close Display Properties.
Reopen Display Properties and A-Test should be gone.
6. To restore it click on TestScheme.reg in the Desktop.
Check Display Properties again and it should be there.
Now all she has to do is find her Scheme in the registry
and export it and save it to disk.
