help request - Cannot create New Folders
This one is new to me...I just installed a new mb/cpu and
ofter getting all of the hardware recognized by WinME i have discovered that I no longer have the ability to create new folders / files directly from either the "file" option under My Computer / Hard Drive or floppy nor do I have that option even available under teh right click menu...I'm truly stumped. any help would be appreciated...is there a setting I've missed or is it a possible corruption of something...of a related note, If I find that I really should reinstall Me over itself, will it lose the information about what has been installed (ie will I have to reinstall everything - I have a lot of programs and i do not want to do this if I don't have to.) thanks for any help, Eric |

Might be worth checking for unwanted pests first g
But also sounds like it *could be* a registry issue. Try:- Start | Run and type "scanreg /fix" (no quotes and note the space between g and /) in the box and click OK. BTW - is the 'New' option shown in the file menu, if so what happens when you select it? Mart "Eric" wrote in message ... No the "new" option isn't available on the file
menu...it's just gone. I'll try the scanreg/fix and see what happens.
