Default USB2 not being recognised ? It did Once tho' .help Please ?

I have a HDD with just 2 USB ports
1 is for my Sagem BB modem
2 is for the new EMPREX webcam i have just bought!

How comes then, that when i goto Device Manager, via control Panel.. it
only seems to recognise 1 USB port in use.
I DO OCCASIONALLY get the quick flicker on-screen that WINDOWS has detected
that i have either an Unknown 'device' or a 'USB Camera' and that i must use
the Disk to load the Drivers.

The thing is, i do all this, and the next time i switch the computer on,
with both USB ports in use, ONLY the Modem 1 is recognised as having
anything in use ?
Could the fact that i used to have a Lexmark printer in the USB port that i
use now for the Emprex Cam be the problem.?
I even uninstalled the Lexmark to prevent this happening.
ANY HELP WOULD BE GOOD HELP, THANKS!!

The Drivers i need are stuff like, snpstd.ds, snpstd.dll , snpstd.sys , and
1 i have a problem getting 'vsnpstd.dll' or 'usnpstd.dll' these drivers are
NOT even on the sodding Disk that came with the WebCam. Cammaestro EU Build
21 is the name on the SET-UP
All Help will be Appreciated....... is it a problem with my LOW RAM, as i am
running on very low resources,
I ONCE got it to work and used it to create a 30 second video stream., so i
know it can be done.
What should i do, uninstall, and start from scratch..as in, re install the
Disk,drivers,etc.
WEBEYE,VP-EYE,VP-HOTLINE are the Software names although it is the DRIVERS
that are NOT THERE when i eventually get round to installing and trying to
use the CAM to look at anything ?????
Cheers, and sorry 'bout length of problem, but ,.. us nooobs eh ? :-)

First the amount of RAM installed has nothing to do with "low resources"
which refers to two small fixed size 64KB, yes that is KB, stacks used by
16 bit applications and libraries.

You mention needing files with names such as snpstd.ds, snpstd.dll,
snpstd.sys,
vsnpstd.dll and usnpstd.dll none of which are part of the Win Me operating
system and I would guess part of the drivers required for the hardware you
are using. Using Google I see they are part of the drivers for your
webcam. Note that many such files will not appear as discrete files on a
driver dusk but instead be contained within dat or cab files.

I would suggest you boot into Safe Mode, open the Device Manager and
delete all your usb devices. Reboot back into Win Me and re-install the
drivers you need using the driver disks that came with your hardware.
