Default Ctrl - Alt - Delete, Iexploer listed twice

Iexploer shows up twice in the "end task list when I press
Ctrl - Alt - Delete. If by chance I get it to go away, It
comes back. I have tried to "Disk Cleanup", then tried to
run "Scan Disk" with and without "auto fix errors" but I
get the "10 times tried" message. I did "Ctrl - Alt -
Delete" to stop all the other programs and still can not
get "Scan disk" or "Disk Defragmenter" to run out. I am
running "Windows98 SE". I ran Norton AntiVirus a few times
with no problems found. Whats next?

Sounds like you have several problems, not related to IE.
Also I gather that your goal is that you want to defrag your
comp. As I have found it is best achieved via SAFE Mode.
Reboot your comp and press CTRL for a few seconds, then
release and the Boot Menu should appear, or you can download
TweakUI and navigate to the Boot tab and check always show
Boot Menu.
