Default IE6 + spooner.a + WMP + MSN + total mess up (repost)

I've been having SERIOUS trouble with my Windowsversion
lately. Especially with Windows Media Player 9, which fell
out, with Internet Explorer 6, with the MSNmessenger
toolbar, with Windows Update which (of course) doesn't
function at all anylonger, with my languagesettings (I'm
Dutchtongued but now my system has become a mixture of
English and Dutch).

a) Windows Media Player:
Stopped functioning suddenly.
Tried to download from the specific WMP9-homepage, but
that version was unable to install over the existing
corrupt one. After downloading an English version from
somewhere else on the Microsoft-pages, install did work.
But now I get a lot of scripting errormessages within WMP.

b) MSN toolbar:
My troubles began after installing this thing.
WMP fell out and then later, that awful spooner.a trojan...
(see next)

c) Internet Explorer 6:
Removed trojan spooner.a with my antivirusprogram from all
locations and manually from C:\_restore.
The funny thing is that it always comes back whenever I
visit www.microsoft.com with the Internet Explorer browser.
Even after removing thoroughly the msn-toolbar.
Whilst visiting those Microsoft pages this url
pops up in a window:
http://www.ntsearch.com/euro_in.php?acc=zone2
Whenever this gets activated, I know the spooner.a virus
nestles on my system as c:\SP.EXE.

This never happens with Netscape Navigator.

d) Windows Update:
Whichever patches installed, whatever I try, Windows
Update doesn't react. Always the same error page.

e) Hotmail:
Even with Internet Explorer 6 (SP1) installed, visiting
hotmail-mailpages with IE always gives me the response
that I should download IE 6.

f) System-language:
After installing Dutch updates, half of my Dutch Windows
is suddenly in English.

Greetings.
I need a beer now.
Cheers.

Removed trojan spooner.a with my antivirusprogram from all

And in so doing a) lost the chance of restoring your system to the state it
was in before your problems began, and b) destroyed the integrity of the store
which is now of little use to you. To resolve the latter problem you now
need to reset system restore and rebuild the control files.

Fair enough. Now, learn how to secure MSIE against running scripts, or don't
use it. What you caught was probably related to the Cool Web Search browser
hijacker, if what I see on the site you linked is anything to go by. They
get into systems through promiscuous scripting in MSIE.
