Default Yahoo Messenger 8 and ME?

I could never get Yahoo Messenger 7 or 7.5 to work on ME.
Does Messenger 8 work on ME?
Version 6 keeps nagging me to update.

Hmmm, and why would you think Yahoo would create YM8 so it would work on
WinME, when 7 and 7.5 didn't???? I remember now that I had to stay with
a lower version eons ago. SMACK!! I will give you some
"nagging".....lol.

Cheers....Heather 8-))

I don't use Yahoo Messenger however the Yahoo Messenger site states that
the System Requirements are "Microsoft Windows 95/98/NT/2000/ME/XP"

I guess I hoped they would mend their ways.

They probably should take ME out of that list. 7.5 does work on 98SE,
strangely. Crashes on ME. I'm afraid I'll be spinning my wheels if I
install version 8 on ME.
I would think it's just my system but two of my friends with ME also had to
go back to version 6.

Nah......add me to your List of people with WinME that it won't work on.

Rather reminds me of Norton/Symantec, which states the latest and
greatest will work on WinME........NOT!! Well, last year's version said
it would, not sure about anything newer.

Heather, who stayed with version 6 and then trashed it.

Quite some time ago I experimented with the Yahoo Messenger and recall
having problems with it. Henceforth don't bother with it anymore. The same
goes for the MS Messenger.
Life goes on without it and much more smoothly, as it seems.

Harry.

Word to the wise...

I got tired of the update nag and let Messenger 7 update on 98SE. Big
mistake. It crashes immediately. which I think was the problem when 7 ran
on ME. Also, without a hint of a warning, Yahoo changed my home page, and
installed Yahoo Toolbar and Yahoo Explorer Bar. I never wanted those. I
uninstalled the whole thing and purged every instance of Yahoo from my
computer.
