Stupid question plz help me out
okay I have a dinosoar of a computer, but thats not the
problem. I tried to download something, and it said I had to choose an application to open the file. I didn't know what I was doing, and I clicked Miscrosoft word. The file came out in numbers and little squares. Now everytime I try to download something from the netit uses microsoft word toopen it, and it always comes out in numbers and squares. HOW DO I CHANGE THE APPLICATION THAT I WANT TO USE TO AUTOMATICALLY OPEN DOWNLOADED FILES WITH? If you could email me with an answer that would help so much!! thanks!! |

Please supply us with the extension of the file so we may suggest which program to
use and how to reassociate it. -- Brian A. Jack of all trades, Master of none. One can never truly be a master as there is always more to learn. Stupid question plz help me out
First of all there are no stupid questions...only an
answer that you haven't learnt yet... I'm assuming that you have 1.Windows Explorer..(the little file with the magnifying glass on it) click into that 2.Go up to the top of the page and click on Tools, 3.go to Folder Options, 4.go to Files Types, 5.Find the file type and 6.then click on Edit, 7.at the Actions click on Open 8.and Edit under that window.. you will see at the top Application used to perform action,, 9.click Browse.. 10.find this file name Program Files, 11.find this file nameInternet Explorer 12and click it 13.and click on IExplorer.exe 14.and click ok ...That should do it. Hope this helps... Canapril -----Original Message----- Please supply us with the extension of the file so we may suggest which program to use and how to reassociate it. -- Brian A.
