Hi Kevin,
The DEFRAG004 error indicates the drive contains an error. Delete the contents of the C:\Windows\Temp folder and the Temporary Internet Files. Then empty the Recycle Bin. Performing a thorough scan of the disk from DOS may fix the error. To do so Boot the system with a Windows Startup Disk. At the A:\ prompt type scandisk C: then press enter. Let Scandisk perform the standard scan and a surface scan. When the surface scan is finished remove the Startup disk and reboot the system. Boot to Windows and retry Defrag. Deleting the contents of the Applog file has known to have worked. Once.
