Default Dialup Internet

Well I have IE 6.02XXX with SP1 I guess thats IE 6.1. I get down to Add
components and I do not find but I see no OE offered.

The ISP I am dealing with is JOIMAIL.COM which is owned by EARTHLINK and
run by earthlink.

I did install Netgear (WG111v2) on USB 2 wireless adapter on USB 1
port. I understand speed will be less but that OK. Even though I can
connect with hub/modem and get a good signal..TCP or link level
protocol appears to kept me from connecting to the outside world.
Still not sure what the cause is.

Provided your ISP is a "normal" one, all you need is an email client.
Windows includes Outlook Express which is one such program. You probably
already have it installed, but it may be outdated. To get the latest OE,
install/reinstall Internet Explorer. IE 6.1 is the last version Win9x
can use. Get it he
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/...s/default.mspx

Choose "Minimal or Custom" install option.

Or, go to Add/Remove Programs and double-click the "Microsoft Internet
Explorer (x.xx) and Internet Tools". Assuming it's a recent version that
you have installed, choose Add Components. OE will be offered. If it's
BOLD, then it's already installed. Still, I'd strongly recommend
upgrading to IE6.1 if you aren't already there.

Note that OE is *not* Microsoft Outlook, which is an entirely different
program that's part of MS Office suites.

Once you have OE installed, or have located the already installed
program, you'll need to refer to your ISP's help pages to get the proper
configuration information. If you have any problems, please include the
name of your ISP in future posts.
