I am re-posting my problem because I REALLY need some
advise! I work at home and NEED my computer to run right
or I can't work. Everything on my screen is HUGE. I am
unable to change the display settings and resolution. All
the options except 2 and 16 colors have vanished! The
slider will not work. ANY input would be GREATLY
appreciated!

Thanks bunches!!

Hi Mitzi,

This usually indicates that there is an incorrect video driver installed.
Here's some information on replacing the video driver.

Tip: Go to Start - Run and type Msconfig and press enter. On the
General Tab click advanced, and make sure "VGA 640x480x16 is
NOT checked before continuing.

To correct this you will first have to identify the video card installed.
That may include checking documentation, contacting the system
manufacturer, or opening the box and looking for identifying marks
on a video card or video chip on the mother board. Some systems
will display the Video Adapter information on the top of the screen
when the system first boots up. Some manufacturers displays a logo
screen that may cover this information. It may be able to be removed
temporarily by pressing the ESC key when the logo first appears. Once
the Video card has been identified, go to the manufactures web site,
download and install the latest video driver and install it as per there
instructions. Or the system may have shipped with a video card driver it can
also be used.

I have looked every where for the mfg of the video card,
to no avail. All I can come up with is Standard PCI
Graphics adapter (VGA)...?? I ran Aida32 and have all
sorts of info about my system but don't have any idea what
to do now. (???) Thank you for replying!

I have looked every where for the mfg of the video card,

Hi Mitzi,

This usually indicates that there is an incorrect video

driver installed.
Here's some information on replacing the video driver.

Tip: Go to Start - Run and type Msconfig and press=20

enter.
On the
General Tab click advanced, and make sure "VGA=20

640x480x16
is
NOT checked before continuing.

To correct this you will first have to identify the=20

video
card installed.
That may include checking documentation, contacting the

system
manufacturer, or opening the box and looking for

identifying marks
on a video card or video chip on the mother board. Some

systems
will display the Video Adapter information on the top=20

of
the screen
when the system first boots up. Some manufacturers

displays a logo
screen that may cover this information. It may be able=20

to
be removed
temporarily by pressing the ESC key when the logo first

appears. Once
the Video card has been identified, go to the

manufactures web site,
download and install the latest video driver and=20

install
it as per there
instructions. Or the system may have shipped with a=20

video
card driver it can
also be used.

advise! I work at home and NEED my computer to run=20

or I can't work. Everything on my screen is HUGE. I=20

am
unable to change the display settings and=20

resolution. All
the options except 2 and 16 colors have vanished! The
slider will not work. ANY input would be GREATLY
appreciated!

Thanks bunches!!
