Default Word Pad Problem

The exact error reads" The wordpad.exe file is linked to
missing export MFC42.Dll:6453." If I search for wordpad I
get no responce. If I try to open with wordpad I get the
error. Also a search of C:\Windows fails to find
Wordpad.EXE, But Write.exe tries to open wordpad. I'm
stumped. any sugustions?

Default Word Pad Problem

Many errors in Wordpad are fixed by removing this key in the Registry
with Regedit:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre nt
Version\Applets\Wordpad
A restart may be necessary.

See this article:
Invalid Page Fault Starting WordPad or Paint [Q218632]
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=218632

As for where it is, Wordpad is not in the Windows folder. It is
normally in C:\Program Files\Accessories
Write.exe is only a stub that calls Wordpad.exe
