One thing the new version has is anti virus monitoring. Its suppose

to

monitor the anti virus program you have installed and let you know

if

there

are any 'lapses' in protection. How? Don't know. Most of the

problems

I

read about so far is related to incompatibility with existing av's.

BTW

It

doesn't detect Grisoft's AV on my system. On the plus side, it does

allow

you to disable it. RC

HI HL, I've been running the free ZA 5.0 since 24th (about 10 minutes before
Heathers original post!) - opted for update rather than clean and it's not
given me any trouble *that I am aware of* so far!

I kept quiet out of embarrassment for the past few days following the string
of comments but I think I'm now ready to be 'outed' g

Will advise further if or when I do hit a problem.

I've had mine since it first came out too, but, mainly to shut my ZA updater
up, it kept nagging me with the update notice, so I downloaded it in hopes
of shutting it up. Since I haven't installed it yet, the updater is still
nagging me, so I'm about ready. I'm gonna hold on to my old download just in
case, and I reinstall the old one. I figure my system should be a good
measure. If it works ok on mine, it should work ok on most *normal* systems.

Hi Jan,

....the updater is (was!) still nagging me.

My situation too.

I'm gonna hold on to my old download just in
case, and I reinstall the old one.

I have done that as a matter of course, I've got 8 of them going back to
v37.143 almost 12 months ago g Just remember to set an SR point before you
update.

I've no 'special' settings in force - just running on (almost) default
settings and the Alert & Log viewer shows plenty of activity (medium and
high blocking) and it seems to be keeping me clean. It just looks after
itself g

Hey....you two!! Why not do as I do......I have the automatic nagger
(updater) turned off in ZAPro....I have it set on Manual.

Takes a *Canadian Woman* to figure that one out.......LOL.

Figgs

P.S. I have copies of ZA back to 2.1.25, grin. I collect antiques. It is
3.5 years old. Guess I don't really need that one. I am not telling you
how many are in my Download file, but time for a clean-out, I guess.

I usually have every thing set to manual update, as I update everything on a
set schedule, unless Siljaline or someone says there is a newer one. But,
when I reinstalled it a few months ago I guess I neglected to reset it to
manual. Thanks for the reminder though. I have been leaving it on to remind
me that I should install the new one. Think I'll do that over the weekend,
just in case.

Hey Mart...don't run off this weekend....I'll give Noel a break.... VBG

And exactly what or who are you calling an automatic nagger??? Hmmm??
Remember, I can hunt you down like a dawg (probably one of the Loon's
expressions, grin)......when I get over there in a week.

Whew.......got all the incredibly over-priced hotels booked by suppertime
tonight......what a PITA!!!! Just so you know......£80 = $200
Canadian......choke!! I just want to sleep in the bed.....not buy it!!

Oh well, I will also hunt Noel down and he can buy us dinner. At a
fancy-schmancy hotel.....no McDonald's for this kid!! (G)

Then just wait till I hit London, Mr. M. 8-)))
