All files recorded to CD using the CDFS filing system (Compact Disk Filing
System), that is recorded using a mastering application such as Roxio's EasyCD or Ahead's Nero, will by default be marked as Read Only when copied back to your hard disk for the because the CDFS filing system knows nothing of file attributes and therefore sets all files as read only when copied to hard disk. To change the attributes of a single file, right click the file, select Properties and uncheck the "Read Only" box on the General tab. To change the attributes of all files in a folder right click on the folder and change the attribute there and choose to apply to all files and sub-folders. The read only attribute can also be amended by working from a DOS prompt and using wild cards. -- Mike Maltby MS-MVP [2001-2004] Albert wrote: How can I take out read only files out of my data cds? |
