Default PDF File "NOT Valid win32 Application" for" My Documents" Double C

"Dr. H.Mak" wrote in message
...
Operating System : Microsoft Windows Me

Problem: Upon Double Clicking on "My Documents" Icon I a get a list
of my files. ( OK )

When I Double Click on a PDF file such as xx.pdf I get the following error
message :

" c:\ MyDocuments\xx.pdf is not a valid win32 application "

If I Double Click on the Acrobat Reader 5.0 Icon the reader comes up OK
and
I can "Open" file xx.pdf using the browser window. ( this works OK )

How do fix the error described above Re : win32 application ??

Thanks,
Dr. H.Mak

"Not a valid win32 application" is usually associated with a corrupted file.

==========================================

I solved the Problem by down loading Acrobat Reader 6.01 for Me from
the Adobe Web Site and Installing It. Fixes the 5.0 Problem and and
works correctly on Double Clicks on file name xx.pdf in MyDocuments etc...

I tried reinstall of the Acrobat PDF Ver. 5.0 Reader from the System
Recovery Disk. It did not Fix the Problem ?? ( I also tried a Different
Source
Disk and Install )

I believe that the Acrobat 5.0 Install from the HP Recovery Disk was
not installed in the correct location and did not link correctly with the
Windows Me Op System.

Best Wishes,
Dr. H.Mak
