....and I'd got used to working with cpu's faster than 1.5 ghz !! :-)
I've got feeling that it's got an AMD K6/2-500mhz chip on it ... ....now I'll have use for that free "MS Windows Security update CD Feb 2004" cd :-) regards, Richard |

The K6-3 450 (or the rare 500) works great on that board and will scream
compared to any K6-2. If it's version 1.04 or lower, it will take the K6-2/3+. I used one for years and found them bullet proof, forgiving and flexible. On the internet, you won't see much performance difference between the P5A and a new board. Loaded with lotsa RAM and a K-3-450 it'll still hold it's own. BTW, it appears the P5A has become something of a "classic". When I sold mine, 6 months ago, I advertized it locally and had potential buyers lined up after the first day. Almost put it back on the closet shelf for posterity -- PoGo www.pogo123.com - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - "Teaching a pig to sing wastes your time and annoys the pig". |
