Default RAID

I'm going to config and install a new server for my client. In order to
avoid unnecessary compatibilty issues, the OS will remain to be Windows 98.
There are about 10 users running on Windows XP to be connected to the
server. The central question is: Whether a RAID is required. Is RAID
actually faster and more reliable than a single SATA hard disk? What if I
increase the system memory to 1GB? Which one, big system memory or RAID, can
help increase performance?
