reinstalling 98se???
Ok, now I've about had it.
Can't even get into BIOS, nothing. Power on and the unit just sits there with the red light on(usually when HD is running), green light not on(power) and monitor showing nothing.. I'm going to turn unit off, disconnect power and then pull battery to reset BIOS. Someone else also suggested a bad MB so I may be fighting an uphill battle. "Gary S. Terhune" wrote in message ... reinstalling 98se???
Sounds like it. I've got my main machine sitting here on the floor, getting
in my way, that did the same thing several weeks back. Probably because I did something to break it (quit working after I plugged in another HD to recover data. Decided to clean out some dust while I was at it. Wouldn't boot up, and from there it only got worse. -- Gary S. Terhune MS MVP Shell/User "L." wrote in message ... Ok, now I've about had it. Pulled everything off the MB except the video card and HD. Still no go. I even replaced the 40gig HD with a good 20gig, again my supply box, and still nothing. Can't get it to do anything.@#@!!!!!!! Ready to mess with it a while longer then I'll "can it". "Gary S. Terhune" wrote in message ... Sounds like it. reinstalling 98se???
Final update.
Having a new system built. Even the company that builds my "stuff" couldn't find out what's wrong w/o spending a lot of time. For an older 950m system, not worth it. Better off spending that $$$ on a new tower. Thanks to all for suggestion and esp. Gary. "L..." wrote in message ... If "it" keeps it up, "it'll" need the luck!!!! I have a big hammer.....
