UPDATE 98 to 98SE - format HD required?
If I use an official UPDATE disk to go from Win 98 to 98 SE, will I be
required to format the hard drive, lose data (& software) - or is the update more harmless than that? Thx |

No, boot win98 insert the update disk and update.
You do not need to format. All programs data and applications will be retained. You may still want to back up important information just in case. Note: If your existing installation has problems then the upgrade may not fix them. -- Jon Hildrum DTS MVP www.hildrum.com wrote in message oups.com...
