98se upgrade
i have a pc in the house that missed the se upgrade and until now has run
with just the original first edition. because it has four logins or profiles besides the default i am a little hesitant to run the upgrade cd. question is, does anyone remember having run the 98se upgrade disc on a pc with multiple logins and having the login screen and profiles remain intact at the end of it? i have posted this on a couple other forums and no one remembers. this is the original "house" pc that everyone has a lot of odds and ends parked in. i have had the upgrade cd for years, but i have always built newer pcs with full installs and clean drives. please post back if you have done this before and had it boot to a login screen with the profiles intact. |

I never tried with multiple accounts. However, when using the upgrade all
settings are supposed to remain intact. I would do a backup before starting just in case. -- Jon Hildrum DTS MVP www.hildrum.com "steve t" wrote in message ... i have a pc in the house that missed the se upgrade and until now has run with just the original first edition. because it has four logins or profiles besides the default i am a little hesitant to run the upgrade cd. question is, does anyone remember having run the 98se upgrade disc on a pc with multiple logins and having the login screen and profiles remain intact at the end of it? i have posted this on a couple other forums and no one remembers. this is the original "house" pc that everyone has a lot of odds and ends parked in. i have had the upgrade cd for years, but i have always built newer pcs with full installs and clean drives. please post back if you have done this before and had it boot to a login screen with the profiles intact. |
