Default Computer not seeing my Linksys WMP54G PCI Adapter

I have a Dell Dimension 4100 running Windows ME. The
processor is a Pentium III and I have 128 meg of RAM
(which meets the minimum system requirements).

I have installed the software, and the wireless card per
the Linksys instructions. The card does not show up in
device manager. The linksys utility program won't run (the
window opens and closes immediately).

Linksys tech support was unable to find any solution.
After uninstalling and reinstalling the software twice,
and trying the card in three different slots, Linksys told
me to try the card in another PC to find out if the card
is good. Unfortunately I don't have another PC.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Thanks.

Have the same problem. Linksys's utilities just don't play nice with
Windows ME (it's not alone in this).

Per Linksys tech support's suggestion, I downloaded the Boingo
installer (www.boingo.com) for Windows ME and voila! It works
(mostly).

*My* suggestion is to get off of ME - even Win98SE would be a better
choice. Not to mention OS-X.
