Default Screen Flickers/Refresh Rate Isn't There

For some reason my screen is flickering. I understand it has to do w/ the
refresh rate.

This happened a few years ago and I changed the settings, but I forgot how
to do it.

So I googled it and every site I found said the same thing: rightclick
desktop/properties/setting tab/click Advanced/to Adapter tab...and that's
where I'd be able to increase it to 75 or 85.

Well, it's not there. Where is it?

Thanks.

It might just be that your video driver has become corrupted or has reset
itself to a 'standard' vga adapter. You should be able to confirm that in
the Advanced settings and/or Device Manager.

The simplest solution is to 'Remove' any/all video adapters shown in Device
Manager in Safe Mode, then reboot and let WinMe re-detect your video card
and re-install the correct drivers.

NB - You MAY be asked for your Video Driver Installation disk/CD during the
re-boot so be sure that you still have it available.

HTH

Mart, thanks anyway, but I finally figured it out:

Inside the monitor tab (after clicking "advanced"), my monitor wasn't
listed. It was blank. And when I went to change it, it had, I think
"unknown."

After I set it to my monitor, I went back to the Adapter tab and the refresh
rate settings was right there in the window. And I was able to reset it back
to 75.

I don't know how/why my monitor was switched to "unknown."

Thanks anyway.

Thanks for the feedback, good to hear that you've fixed it.

S*d's Law!! - My 'standard response' to video issues normally includes the
suggestion of 'Removing' any/all monitors, too g.

No idea why it switched to "unknown" though - but these things do happen
bg

Good luck and Seasons Greetings.
