Reformatting problem
After reformatting my laptop I noticed that the graphics
where limited to 16 colours and there was no sound. Someone suggested that my graphics and sound cards needed to be reinstalled but I don't know which cards I have. Do I have to open my laptop and find out what cards I have manually or is there a progam that does it for me? Help! |

Your laptop manufacturer will be able to provide the details of the hardware
used in the machine, and may even have the required drivers on their www site. -- Jeff Richards MS MVP (DTS) "Matt" wrote in message ... Reformatting problem
Opening the case of a desktop to get hardware information is A-OK--opening a
laptop may be hazardous to its health and yours (they can be a real puzzle). Check the CDs/floppy disks you got with the laptop and see if there is a driver disk(s). If so, try installing the correct drivers from it/them. If you don't have a drivers disk, check the web site as Jeff suggested. -- Regards Ron Badour, MS MVP for W98 Tips: http://home.satx.rr.com/badour Knowledge Base Info: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?pr=kbinfo "Matt" wrote in message ...
