Default Virtual Memory

Noticed 'lack of memory' problems recently and have found
that virtual memory shows as disabled even though it is
set as letting windows manage it with 0 minimum and no
maximum. I have tried setting it manually which it
accepts (or appears to) but when I go back in the settings
have returned to windows managed but is still shown
disabled - any ideas?

How much free space do you have on your HDD or the partition on which the
win386.swp file resides?
What OS are you running? Win98SE?
