Viewpoint.exe and vbscript.dll
Last week, My McAfee firewall detected something called Viewpoint and asked
me if I wanted to allow it access. I didn't know what it was so I said no. Then like an idiot I went to my Program Files and deleted the folders in my C Drive. Then, I went to Add/Remove Programs and tried to uninstall it but of course it wasn't there anymore. Unfortunately I know it didn't remove all the related files and now my internet connection on my Dial-up and/or my Comcast HiSpeed is moving at a snails pace. I've been talking to someone from SpywareInfo.com but it's taking forever to figure out what's wrong. To top it off, When I tried to run RegSvr32 for VBSriipt.dll I get an error message saying, LoadLibrary {"C:\WIN\SYSTEM\vbscript.dll} failed GetLastError Returns 0x00000485 When I try to install and run Windows Script 5.1 or 5.6 I get and error message, Windows Script 5.6 Error registering the OCX C:\WIN\SYSTEM\vbscript.dll It still gives me an Ok, Windows Script 5.6 is now installed, but RegSvr32 doesn't work and my connection is still running at a snail's pace. Please help! Thanks, Ray |

Ditto what David stated.....don't post your HJT logs here. Additionally, trying to
second-guess your handler at another forum *while* in the middle of the issue will only confuse your issue and his response to it. I will look at the thread in the forum you linked as soon as I can, and if I can add anything there, I will post it there. -- Glen Ventura, MS MVP Shell/User, A+ http://dts-l.org/goodpost.htm "Ray Kielhack" wrote in message ... nasdaq has been helping me with my HiJackThis log, here's a copy of the current one if you can gleem some insight into the problem.
