icons next to start button not working

I downloaded and installed opera browser and when I did not like it I
uninstalled it. Now I have lost the ability of my icons next to the start
button. when I click them (IE6, OE6, show desktop) a properties box shows up
asking for me to locate the file. The programs work otherwise. How can I fix
this?

Right click the icon, select Properties and make sure the Target path is
correct.
Heirloom, old and should be just a .lnk file

I've been using Opera for years, and usually un-install before an upgrade,
and can't recall ever seeing this.
