Replacing network adapter
I want to replace my network adapter with new D-Link 10/100Mbps PCI Adapter.
Which Duplex mode would be better to set in Network properties, Full duplex or Half duplex? Connection speed is around 25/10 Mbit/s (assymetric). thanks. |

I would sure try the full duplex mode. Buffalo PS: You can always change it later. |

Sure, I understand this difference. It looks full duplex mode has conclusive
advantages. So not clear, why the half-duplex is set as Default mode in Network adapter, not full-duplex? ---------- "Buffalo" wrote in message ... Perhaps a web search would reveal the true answer, but I believe it is because some systems and their connections will not work well on Full mode, whereas half-duplex mode is the minimum for a network card. Hopefully someone else can give you the official reason (perhaps even the D-link forum). Buffalo |

Replacing network adapter
Full duplex is faster if everything is functioning correctly, but if it's
not all 100% correct then it can actually be worse than half duplex. What else is connected to your network? If it's only a modem/router to your Internet connection then almost certainly full duplex will work properly, although as your speeds will never be near the maximum available it won't actually make much difference. -- Jeff Richards ---------------------------------------- "Aster" wrote in message ...
