sound troubleshooting
Using windows ME the sound card is physically installed correctly, speakers
plugged in and turned on. The soundcard is displayed in Device Manager with no problems, yet in the Sound and Audio properties there is no device available for playback. Thus the sound isn't working. The only thing prior to this problem was that the system.ini file became corrupted which was edited and fixed. There is no opportunity for a system restore, and the drivers have been updated. Any alternate solutions to formatting and starting again would be appreciated Thanks |

make sure that there's a line in the system.ini (under the [boot] heading)
that reads.... drivers=mmsystem.dll power.drv -- Noel Paton (MS-MVP 2002-2005, Windows) Nil Carborundum Illegitemi http://www.btinternet.com/~winnoel/millsrpch.htm http://tinyurl.com/6oztj Please read http://dts-l.org/goodpost.htm on how to post messages to NG's "Dave1978" wrote in message ... I have sent an email to the person with the problem, however I fail to see
how adding the line below will have an effect on the sound. Can you please give me a futher explination?
