Default can i eject usb device from a batch file?

backing up to a usb memory stick from a batch file.
would like to echo a message that tells user it is now safe to remove the
usb device
however, in win98 we have to eject usb devices before removing them.
anyone know how to (if possible) to send a command that would "eject" the
device?
thanks

As far as I know, you can remove the device, just not when it's still blinking.
