Default HelpSpot 5.3 Windows Millenium

HelpSpot is constantly inoperative from the first time I
attempted to use it 3years ago. It works for a while and
then I get an error message: "Helpctr has caused an error
in Kernel32.DLL. Help ctr will now close". I've contacted
Gateway many times and used the restoration disks that
came with the computer. Nothing will restore Helpspot.
Gateway suggested I contact Microsoft and look for
Updates. I noticed one for Helpspot for problems closing
the program. I have literaly spent hours trying to
rectify this problem. All I am asking is for Helpspot to
work properly. I need this resource. It is only right
that this should be rectified. Thank You.

HelpSpot 5.3 is not a Microsoft program - it appears to be a Gateway
program, and they are therefore responsible for its support.

OTOH, helpctr is an MS program - the following link may help.....
