Default ok I would really like to know something important

I am currently running Win98SE. What I want to know is does Win98SE take
advantage of HT processors/If not, Is there a hidden option somewhere to
enable support for ir? Cause I wont be getting XP till my mom gets her new
computer which should be sometime soon. Thanks in advanced. Also if it doesnt
take advantage will i see the added performance of the 3.0ghz intel chip?
pentium 630?

Yes. With the disabled HT -- only because of the high frequency and some new
other architecture solutions.

But only in case your new motherboard supports Win98 in whole (say, Intel does
not support chipsets 945/955 and newer in Win98 -- so even not all the parts
of such motherboards will work in Win98SE: you won't find the drivers for them
neither now nor in the future).

Not sure what your mom's new computer has to do with the one you are describing. It
sounds like you are waiting for her to get it so you can use her XP disc on your
computer. You will not be able to do that, if that's what you were planning.
