Default Windows error during videocard installation

So I have the following problem:

Recently, I have installed Windows 98SE on my computer (before that, I was
running Win98). So everything during the 98SE installation went fine, and the
installation has been succesfull.

However, when I first used my computer again, I found out that my videocard
(Diamond Stealth S220) had not been installed yet. So I tried to find new
hardware, but the only thing I could find was an "unidentified device" (I
don't know wether this is a good translation, since I'm Dutch). So I assume
that this is my videocard, since there aren't any other objects that qualify
as such.

Anyway, I've found my videocard software, but when I try to install it, I
keep getting the same error, and I don't know what it means or what exactly
the problem is:

(NOTE: First line is in Dutch, but I believe it's the standard message
Windows gives, when an error occures)

This problem occures almost at the end (say 80 percent) of the installation
proces.

Before I installed Win98SE (I was working with Win98 that time), everything
worked out fine, and I haven't been fooling around with hardware, so I know
all hardware is connected correctly.

I really hope someone can help me fix this, or just give me clue about
what's wrong, because actually, we are talking about the computer of my
neighbours, so I kinda feel like I've blasted their system.

Kind Regards

P.S. I don't know whether I've posted this in the right discussiongroup, so
I'm sorry if there's a more specialized one for this particular problem.

Default

Visit the video card's site and download the latest
Windows 98 driver file for it, remove the "Other device",
and install the update driver by double-clicking on its
file.

Look in the Device Manager to make sure that the video
card's make and model is listed under Display adapter.

You should also do a clean up of the Device Manager in
Safe mode. See this page if you want to know how to do it:
