Default norton anti virus 2004

I have downloaded and activated Norton 2004 anti virus,
but it will not open to the main page so i can scan or
schedule a scan. i installed it as a walk through with
Symantec/Norton on line support but they told me that is
as far as they go. I never had this trouble with 2002,
she walked me completely deleting the old 2002 information
but I am still having major problems/. can someone help
me.

NAV 2004 is incompatible with Win Me and causes countless problems - far more
than any it may purport to solve. Return the product to Symantec and ask for
your money back on the grounds that the product isn't suitable for the purpose
for which you purchased it. Use the refund to buy an antivirus application
that causes less problems with Win Me (IMO NAV 2004 isn't suitable for use
with any operating system) and then use the money left over to buy yourself a
drink.

AMEN to that! I just uninstalled NAV 2004 for the
849567576th time yesterday and won't be reinstalling it.
What a mess I've had with it for the past 7 months, and
their website just leads you on & on & on until you get to
the point of doing something to your registry, which I'm
not about to try! I've asked for my money back from
Symantec about 4 times but they just blow me off every
time. I bought & installed something new yesterday - now
IE 6.0 isn't working but I guess I'll figure that out.
Oh, another thing -- Symantec assured me that when I
uninstall NAV 2004 it would be completely and totally
gone. I uninstalled, rebooted & searched for files under
Norton and Symantec and found quite a few things; they
went straight to the recycle bin and out!

A stiff G&T all round then?

PS. Claire got her transcript yesterday so everything is now confirmed and
official. Before then she still couldn't believe her results. :-)

TWO stiff G & T's all around......grin.

Fabulous re Claire......she obviously did quite well. Takes after her Dad,
she does!!

Elayne just booked a direct flight to Paris......on her Visa, lol. We kind
of nudged her into it cuz she hasn't had a holiday in years. She has a
friend there who is a school teacher and she is off for the summer. I will
drop you a line and catch you up.....(or did I just do that.....nah!!)

Cheers....Heather

I hope Elayne enjoys herself and finds a nice cheap garret, or should that be
loft, somewhere and a nice cheap Frenchman to go with it. VBG As for a
holiday I wouldn't mind one of those myself but don't see one happening
anytime soon.

Cheers - have yet to see Claire since her return!

She has free accommodation in Paris, but would prefer a "rich Frenchman" as
opposed to "cheap"......she had that *character flaw* with that blasted Kiwi
SS (mustn't spell that one out, grin).

I think it is time for you to flip over to Paris for a weekend.....now that
the girls are almost on their own two feet!! Or Canada.....grin.

I was thinking of you and Noel on that trip to Redmond.....she is due north
of there. Long flight for you all. About 4 hours to here as the crow flies
and then at least 6 hours to Paris......not to mention all the time you
waste in the flippin' airport!! Coming to Glasgow, I spent about 5 hours in
the two airports.....and 6 hours in the air. Hmmm......PITA!!

Congratulate Claire for me. And then hand her the Want Ads, grin!!

Cheers....Heather
