Are the Win98x registry keys, values, and data case sensitive?

Some yes, some no. Keys and Value Names are not ever, AFAIK, however the
actual values, what's called Data in REGEDIT, often *are* case-sensitive
(not to mention other format sensitivities.) Depends on the value.

The Registry is a database. A Lookup Reference. When a program needs a value
for some operation, it looks it up in the Registry (and often gets shunted
to several places within the Registry before finally getting a return). What
format the Value needs to be in depends on the final destination, the app
that's going to use it.
