CD-ROM

I am running Windows 98 SE and am a novice. I have a LG CD
writer and a DVD Rom drive. My DVD ROM is not opening.
The message I get is Mitsumi CD-ROM Controller with Double
Speed Drive not responding. Kindly help me in setting
this right.

How did you go about installing the drives? Did they ever work in this computer?
I am wondering why you have a Mitsumi CD-ROM Controller with Double Speed Drive
installed.

Open Device Manager:
Right-click "My Computer", click Properties on the menu that appears.
Click the Device Manager tab.
Click the + signs to expand the categories, and see if anything has a yellow
exclamation mark or red X on it.
Post back with what you find.
