Default Hard Drive Not Seen

Windows 98, 2000
On a Dell machine, originally had Windows 2000 installed, became unbootable,
giving "Inaccessible boot device". I added another HD already formatted
with
Windows 98 as Master, made the original HD the slave. Now booting, BIOS
sees both HDs, but My Computer only shows C: HD and D: as CD-Rom Drive.
In Device Manager, the Drive Letter for that Slave HD is blank and can not
be
set.

In FDISK I am able to switch between the two HDs.
FDISK shows a small portion of that Slave as DOS with the balance as NTFS.

If the Win2000 partition is formatted in the NTSF file system, then Windows
98 can't see it. Only if the 2000 partition is FAT32 can the Windows 98 see
it.

Thanks, I loaded 2000 on the C: and now the Slave is visible.
