My computers think they are connected to a modem
my 2 '98 computers think they are connected to a modem instead of a
router/broadband. I know this because i go control panel-network, try to edit properties for tcp/ip, and its says it is connected to a modem... |

My computers think they are connected to a modem
Suggest you go into Device Manager, right-click the Modem and then
Properties, and "Disable in this hardware profile". Then go into Network applet and remove everything that is there. Restart your machine and the LAN adapter should automatically reinstall. You might have to run WINIPCFG to Release All and then Renew All. to reconnect to your router. -- Gary S.
