Bizzare Mouse & Windows Behavior
Over the past few days the following 2 different scenarios occur on my
Gateway desktop running Win98SE. (1) While in IE6, the mouse will "freeze" for about 30 seconds and then be fine. About 10 minutes later the same thing happens. About 5-10 minutes later is completely freezes. The system is not hung because I can use the keyboard to move about. Then, the keyboard freezes and I have to power off. (2) While in IE6, the mouse will "freeze" for about 30 seconds and then be fine. About 10 minutes later the same thing happens. Then, as I move the mouse, windows start opening up, resizing, status bar reorients itself, windows cascade, windows tile, etc etc. BIZZARE-O!! I have run a complete virus check (Norton 2005) with no problems found; I have run SpyBot and removed all the problems; I have plenty of disk space & memory for my use; I have swapped my mouse. ANY IDEAS OF WHAT TO CHECK OR DO WOULD BE APPRECIATED!! |
