Default Pacific Digital CR-R

I have a CD burner by Pacific Digital, and though I've
tried everything I can think of, I can't get Windows to
recognize that it's there. It's a USB device, I've
installed the drivers, and when I try to add it using
the "Add New Hardware" option, I get a message that says
it's already installed but has problems. I've clicked on
Update Drivers, and it says that the drivers are
installed. I've uninstalled and re-installed things
numerous times, even refreshed Windows (I have a Dell, so
all I have is the Recovery disk).

If anyone has any suggestions, I'm listening.

Thanks,
Carole
