Default HELP! Media Player (9) doesn't recognize audio (.cda) files!

Media Player has lost the ability to play audio CDs! I get
an error message that it doesn't recognize the file type.
This just suddenly happened. MP has been working fine. I
tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but to no avail. CDs
disks are recognized (name of CD shows) but MP just
doesn't know what to do with the files.
Even the basic CD player (in accessories) doesn't work.
The problem happens with CD player and DVD player.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks.

I too am experiencing the same problems after loading MP9 after replacing my
Sys board. Any answers for another lost soul?
