Default PCI USB problem

Hi

I hope this is the right NG to post to on this issue.

I have a Windows ME PC that is about 12 years old
it gas Cyrix MB and a Pentium s 200 CPU,
it runs really well.
I installed a PCI USB card and it works okay with my mouse and
keyboard running on USB.

I tried to install a USB Wireless Adapter, it is installed
in Hardware Manager but when I load the set-up program
I get an error saying the Adapter was not found?
When I checked in Hardware Manager
there is an issue with the PCI USB saying
it has no driver and needs to reinstall the driver.

When I try to reinstall it the Install Hardware Wizard
says the drivers on the CD are not the right ones?

I'm not sure what to do about it, does anyone have any ideas??

thanks

Daniel

Did you check the documentation that came with the wireless device to be
sure that it supports WindowsMe? Did you read the documentation before
installing the device? There is usually a process that must be followed
with such devices and it almost always includes "Install the drivers BEFORE
installing the device" as an important step.

Yes I followed the install instructions fully, the point is that the
PCI card is not installed properly and the diver will not install.

cheers
