Default Ned to Get Rid of Logon Dialog Box

From time to time, the logon dialogue box pops up asking for a
password. The computer is used by one person so I have no lgon setup.

How do I get rid of this box? Which files may be permanently removed
to go around this nuisance? I expect never to need two or more logons,
always it will be single person. Please help.

This only happens sometimes? If so, then there are some precautions to take.
Please locate the following information.

1. Look in the Windows folder. Click on the column header called Type. Look
for the Type called PWL File. How many do you have and do you recognize the
names of any of them? Is one the one you typically consider your username?
The one you usually see when you go to StartLog off...

2. Go to the Control Panel.
2a. In the Networking applet, what is listed as the Primary Network Logon?
2b. In the Passwords applet, what is the dialogue titled and what options
are offered on the first tab (if more than one)?
2c. Same info is needed from the Users applet.

In addition to Glen's suggestion for this article:
How to Prevent a Windows 95/98 Logon Password Prompt at Startup
http://support.microsoft.com/support.../q152/1/04.asp

Disregard the Q135586 link at the bottom of the MS page, instead if
you have TweakUI: Click Start, point to Settings, click Control
Panel, then double-click TweakUI. On the Paranoia tab, DO NOT
select the Clear Last User At Logon check box.
That is not for this purpose.

It's that intermittent part that gets me. If OP possibly already has
multiple users, wondering if there isn't something more to this than meets
the eye. I'm always worried that a misstep will accidentally delete the OP's
personal files under Profiles directory.
