Hi,
It sounds like the install partition is NTFS. You can use Wipe or Zap to remove the NTFS partition. http://www.microstorage.com/Harddriveinfo.htm Here are instructions in performing a clean install. Actually, the beauty of NTFS is that it allows you to enlarge or shrink a
certain partition on the hard drive without reformatting the hard drive itself. All you have to do is use Windows XP's Computer Management applet by right-clicking My Computer and then selecting "Manage" in the context menu. Follow the on-screen instructions to create your new FAT partition. Then, using Windows XP's Command Prompt, format the new FAT partition. You will then be ready to install Windows 98, and you can then use both operating systems for a dual-boot PC. Hi Brandon,
There is no native tool in WinXP that will resize any type of existing partition! Partitions can be created and formatted out of unused space from within Disk Management. And there is no need to go to the Command Prompt to format. -- Regards, Bert Kinney [MS-MVP DTS] http://dts-l.org/ "Brandon Taylor" wrote Actually, the beauty of NTFS is that it allows you to enlarge or shrink a certain partition on the hard drive without reformatting the hard drive itself.
