Default Start up with new printer plugged into USB port

Have a Packard Bell computer (out of business) with
Windows 98 OS. Installed new Lexmark X1155 printer. In
order for computer to boot up, I have to unplug USB
cable. I suspect the problem is in the INI file start up
but don't know how to correct the problem. After the
computer is on, I can plug in the cable and use the
printer? I'm baffled. Please help

As with 99% of USB devices, you must install the software BEFORE connecting
the USB device!
