Win98 keeps auto-restarting after shutdown-can't turn it off!!
I had the same problem. Called SBC. Instructed me to disable fast
shtutdown. It worked. Hit start Hit run type msconfig hit OK hit advanced put check next to "disable fast shutdown". That's it. Good luck. Andre wrote: I recently installed the software that came with SBC-Yahoo DSL on my windows98 laptop. It required restarting the computer several times (setting up auto-restart automatically). At some point I lost power abruptly and the machine was thus not shut down properly during the install. I proceeded anyways and the software runs fine. However, it seems that Windows 98 is now stuck on this mode that systematically restarts after shutdown. The only way to shut it down is to select "Restart in MS-DOS mode" and then switching off the power button once it is in MS-DOS mode. Any help to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated. Best Regards, Andre . |
