Put your Windows CD in your CD drive 2. Boot from a boot floppy and select "Start with CD support". 3. Change drive to your CD drive. Its letter will be bumped up one letter because a temporary drive has been created in RAM. 4. Type "setup" -- dadiOH ____________________________ dadiOH's dandies v3.06... ....a help file of info about MP3s, recording from LP/cassette and tips & tricks on this and that. Need more info. Are you using a floppy start up disk or do you have a
bootable system CD (sometimes called a restore disk)? -- Regards Ron Badour, MS MVP Windows 98 Tips: http://home.satx.rr.com/badour Knowledge Base Info: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?pr=kbinfo "ModeOne" wrote in message ... Booting from MSDOS from the windows startup prompt (F8) does not provide for cdrom read support. Reinstallation or installation of windows will destroy the current boot files on the bootable partition and you'll lose command.com immediately. If the install checks that after booting to the msdos command prompt, you' have problems. Use a Win98 startup diskette. www.bootdisk.com .. Any feedback will be MUCH appreciated. Alan |
