Removing a device
I am trying to install a wirless network card. The computer can't see it.
I have tried a different PCI slot and have tried another card in the slot (which is immediatley recognised). I have even gone back to the shop and swapped cards but no difference. In device manger, under imaging device, there is a camera listed with a yellow exclamation mark beside it. I used to have this installed but no longer use it. When I try to remove, either from device manager or from scanners and cameras, the system just freezes and i have to turn the computer off and on at the mains to reset it. Any suggestions???????? Removing a device
Reboot to Safe Mode, and delete the device from Device Manager there -
together with all entries in the 'Other Devices' branch. See if that cures it. -- Noel Paton (MS-MVP 2002-2004, Win9x) Nil Carborundum Illegitemi http://www.btinternet.com/~winnoel/millsrpch.htm Please read http://dts-l.org/goodpost.htm on how to post messages to NG's or http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/f.../Mar27pmvp.asp "Keith Bell" wrote in message k... Noel
Thanks for that. I have successfully removed the offending item but I still can't get the computer to recognise my wireless card. Any thoughts????? Keith "Noel Paton" wrote in message ...
