i cant install programs with the msi extension it just wants to open in wordpad

Unless someone has a better idea, try correcting your association of
..msi files (Windows Installer Package) in Explorer-View-Folder
Options-File Types.
Mine has this as the Application Used for the Install action (the
default)

"C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\msiexec.exe" /i "%1" %*

What do you see?

I just installed an MSI successfully in Win98SE after installing
InstMsiA.exe.

i dont have anything there or an install on rt click

There are various versions of the installer and some programs need the
newest one. You might try getting and installing same...

well i made the association but now get error saying incorrect cmd line
parameters and that i really dont know how to fix
