System Freezes When Mouse Moves Over Some Buttons

I have just installed Win98SE onto a PC. Soon after this, I start
experiencing system-freeze when I move the mouse over some buttons. And
I cannot Ctrl-Alt-Del to get out from the situation. I have to hit
Reset button to reboot the PC.

This problem seems to have something to do with moving the mouse over
the following buttons:
- The Start button in the task-bar.
- Those three buttons in the upper right corner of
each window (Minimum, Maximum, Close).

So far, I don't have this problem when I move the mouse over other
items on the screen.

This problem doesn't always occur when I move the mouse over those
buttons. But the chance is good that I will freeze the system if I try.

I don't have this problem when I was using Win95 on the same PC.

I have checked Device Manager and I don't see any warning or error
highlighted in any device.

I live with this problem for now by using keystroke whenever I am
supposed to click at the Start button or when I need to close the
window. But I surely want to fix this.

I have fixed this problem by re-installing the video driver. The
previously installed video driver was exactly the same version as the
one that I have newly installed. Somehow, re-installing the video
driver fixes the problem.

I found the solution by searching this newsgroup.
