Can't prevent Acrotray from starting up
x-no-archive: yes
Have a problem.... Depite using msconfig to uncheck Adobe Acrobat Distiller Acrotray in the startup files, it will load up next time you boot up. Have used regedit to look in RunOnce, RunOnce-, etc to see if I can delete the key manually but there's no entry at all for Acrotray! Any thoughts that would help me achieve this? Thanks for any help. |

I don't see why you picked on unlikely once-only startup items like
RunOnce or disabled items like RunOnce- but try this so we can see where it is starting from: Start-Run-msinfo32 Click the + beside Software Environment to expand. Click Startup Programs Ctrl+A to Select All, Ctrl+C to Copy. Paste that information in your message. ....Alan -- Alan Edwards, MS MVP W95/98 Systems http://dts-l.org/index.html In microsoft.public.win98.setup, "Pete J" wrote: x-no-archive: yes Have a problem.... It doesn't start from the Registry. It starts from the Startup group.
Remove the shortcut from the Startup folder, C:\WINDOWS\Start Menu\Programs\StartUp ....Alan -- Alan Edwards, MS MVP W95/98 Systems http://dts-l.org/index.html In microsoft.public.win98.setup, "Pete J" wrote: x-no-archive: yes thanks for the response - following your instructions, here's what's shown: Acrobat Assistant Startup Group "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 5.0\Distillr\AcroTray.exe" thanks in anticipation.....
